Renovation at Ilikai Marina #993: A Complete Interior Design Transformation
As an interior designer, I had the pleasure of working on a renovation project at Ilikai Marina #993 with Blucco Construction. Our client gave us full creative control to transform the space into something special, and I am thrilled with how the project turned out.
From the start, I knew I wanted to incorporate modern neutrals throughout the space. The idea was to create a clean, minimalist look that would be easy to build on with more vibrant decor. We started with bright white paint for the walls and brushed nickel cabinet pulls that created a sleek and polished look.
To add warmth and texture to the space, I chose a woven light fixture and woven counter stools. These elements helped balance out the white paint and the cabinet pulls, creating a more inviting and comfortable atmosphere.
But the real fun began with the rest of the furniture and artwork. I wanted to bring in a tropical vibe that would really make the space feel alive. I chose bright blue and warm orange as the main colors for the decor, and they worked perfectly together to create a vibrant and energetic atmosphere.
To complete the look, we used a bold ocean wallpaper and art prints by local artists throughout the space. My personal favorite is the surfer above the bed. These elements added a sense of playfulness and whimsy to the design, making the apartment feel like a vacation in Hawaii without screaming I’m on vacation in Hawaii.
Overall, the project was a huge success. The finished space feels bright, warm, and inviting, with a perfect blend of modern minimalism and tropical energy. The woven light fixture and counter stools add a cozy touch, while the bright blue and warm orange colors bring a sense of joy and fun to the space.
Working on this project with Blucco Construction was an amazing experience, and I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to create something beautiful and unique.
